Maxine Dowson
Nursery Manager – NVQ 4

I am the nursery manager as well as the designated Safeguarding lead, SENCO, Health and safety officer, looked after child lead and Positive Behaviour management lead. I spend much of my day working in the office to make sure the nursery runs smoothly but I still enjoy working with the children and try to play out in Nursery as much as I can. I started as an unqualified parent as a nursery assistant and went to college and university to qualify to level 4 and management diploma. I have 15 years' experience where I have gained a vast wealth of knowledge and experience. Outside of nursery I enjoy going to my allotment where I have chickens and grow my own fruit and vegetables, I also enjoy reading and knitting.

My Favourite thing to do in nursery is;
I am excited about the allotment project and can't wait to get planting! I love having lots of fun in nursery with both children and staff.

Gemma Robinson
Deputy manager -NVQ3

I am Room leader for the Sunbeams children and I also share the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead. I have over 15 years' experience of working in childcare and a vast knowledge which enables me to support the manager. I am also responsible for leading, planning and evaluating children's learning and developing.

My Favourite thing to do in nursery is;
I love to bake with the children, making cakes and biscuits.

Room leader- NVQ 3

I am room leader for the Raindrops Children and I am also the designated student/volunteers lead. I have worked within child care for 11 years and I enjoy making magical displays with the children and ensuring the environment is replenished and always kept to the highest possible standards for the children to play in, learn and develop. Outside nursery I have two sons that I enjoy doing afterschool activities with and watching them play football for their local team.

My Favourite thing to do in nursery is;
I love mess! Anything messy and I'm there! I always seem to get messier than the children

Jade Sykes
Nursery Practitioner- NVQ 3

I started as an apprentice 5 years ago and through hard work and dedication I am now a qualified nursery practitioner. I love to have giggles with the children and enjoy making sure they have a fun time at nursery.  I thoroughly enjoy working with all the children in nursery and take pleasure in seeing the development they make. Outside nursery I have a young son that takes up at lot of my time.

My Favourite thing to do in nursery is;
I enjoy the construction area, watching the children learn to build using blocks, bricks and natural materials. I love to transporting the materials outside to make dens and big construction areas so the children have fresh air and enjoy the space around them.

Steph Brems
Nursery Practitioner- Foundation Degree

From leaving school I gained employment in a childcare setting through an apprenticeship and four years later I graduated with my Foundation degree. I thoroughly enjoy my role and the different challenges it brings to me each day. I enjoy watching the children enjoy and achieve new experiences whilst in our setting. Outside of nursery I love to go to different restaurants and try new foods.

My Favourite thing to do in nursery is;
I love to get involved with messy play and I love to watch the children get creative and explore new textures.

Katie Wadsworth
Room Leader- NVQ 3

I am room leader for the Rainbows Children and I am also the looked after children designated lead. I am currently studying for my foundation degree in childcare at Middlesbrough university. I have worked within child care for 5 years and I love to learn new and exciting inspirations to share with the children and my colleagues. I love supporting children with additional needs as I find it is a very rewarding part of my job. Outside the nursery I love spend time with my niece and nephew.

My Favourite thing to do in nursery is;
I love being in the outdoor environment transporting the activities from the inside environment for the children to enjoy outside. I enjoy encouraging the children to participate in obstacle courses I have made and to use different materials and resources to create dens.

Madelynn Craig
Nursery Apprentice

I am currently working towards my childcare qualification through Stockton college. I am very creative and love sharing my ideas for topics and displays. In my spare time, I help to look after a child with additional needs.

My Favourite thing to do in nursery is;
Getting creative and messy with glitter, glue, paint and lots of different materials helping the children mark make and explore resources.
